Creed For Self Discipline

Excerpt from Napoleon Hill's Master Key to Riches

Willpower:
Recognizing that the power of will is the supreme court over all other departments of my mind, I will exercise it daily, when I need the urge to action for any purpose; and I will form habits designed to bring the power of my will into action at least once daily.

Emotions:
Realizing that my emotions are both positive and negative I will form daily habits which will encourage the development of the positive emotions, and aid me in converting the negative emotions into some form of useful action.

Reason:
Recognizing that both my positive emotions and my negative emotions may be dangerous if they are not controlled and guided to desirable ends, I will submit all my desires, aims and purposes to my faculty of reason, and I will be guided by it in giving expression to these.

Imagination:
Recognizing the need for sound plans and ideas for the attainment of my desires, I will develop my imagination by calling upon it daily for help in the formation of my plans.

Conscience:
Recognizing that my emotions often err in their over-enthusiasm, and my faculty of reason often is without the warmth of feeling that is necessary to enable me to combine justice with mercy in my judgments, I will encourage my conscience to guide me as to what is right and what is wrong, but I will never set aside the verdicts it renders, no matter what may be the cost of carrying them out.

Memory:
Recognizing the value of an alert memory, I will encourage mine to become alert by taking care to impress it clearly with all thoughts I wish to recall, and by associating those thoughts with related subjects which I may call to mind frequently.

Subconscious Mind:
Recognizing the influence of my subconscious mind over my power of will, I shall take care to submit to it a clear and definite picture of my major purpose in life and all minor purposes leading to my major purpose, and I shall keep this picture constantly before my subconscious mind by repeating it daily.

Signed_____________________________

Discipline over the mind is gained, little by little, by the formation of habits which one may control. Habits begin in the mind; therefore, a daily repetition of this creed will make one habit-conscious in connection with the particular kind of habits which are needed to develop and control the six departments of the mind.

The mere act of repeating the names of these departments has an important effect. It makes one conscious that these departments exist; that they are important; that they can be controlled by the formation of thought-habits; that the nature of these habits determines one's success or failure in the matter of self-discipline

What does Wikipedia say about Self Help?

Self-help or self-improvement refers to self-guided improvementAPA Dictionary of Psychology, 1st ed., Gary R. VandenBos, ed., Washington: American Psychological Association, 2007.?economically, intellectually, or emotionally?most frequently with a substantial psychological or spiritual basis.

The basis for self-help is often self-reliance, publicly available information, or support groups where people in similar situations join together. From early exemplars in self-driven legal practiceSteve Salerno (2005) Sham: How the Self-Help Movement Made America Helpless, ISBN 1-4000-5409-5 p.24-25 and home-spun advice, the connotations of the phrase have spread and often apply particularly to education, business, psychological or psychotherapeutic nostrums, purveyed through the popular genre of self-help books and through self-help personal-development movements. According to the APA Dictionary of Psychology, potential benefits of self-help groups that professionals may not be able to provide include friendship, emotional support, experiential knowledge, identity, meaningful roles, and a sense of belonging. Any health condition can find a self-help method or group such as parents of the mentally ill. But there are limits and these methods do not work for everyone. As well as experienced long time members sharing experiences with a similar practical problem such as finances of a health problem, these health groups can become lobby groups and educational material clearing houses. Those who help themselves by learning about health problems are helping themselves through self-help. But self-help in this context is often really peer-to-peer support.

Hidden Truths of Bob Proctor's Science of Getting Rich Club

by Dr. Matthew Loop

As Bob Proctor points out, the science at the basis of The Getting Rich Science, is actually manifested throughout the most powerful force existing in the universe, the Law of Attraction.

If you thought getting rich was something reserved only to those that have it in them, think again! It is in fact easier that you could imagine: you can even start seeing yourself surrounded with tons of money, financially independent and stable. And imagining yourself be that is also the starting point. Why? As you close your eyes, holding these images in your mind, you will be sending out waves of thought, which will attract the like. This is how the Law works: we attract the like of what we think of.

The Getting Rich Science is what you need to help you achieve more success and more stability than you could think of, if you start switching your mind to actually feel the joy of having it all, the car, the house and everything else. Just close your eyes and take a few minutes to be carried away, by way of thought. The figure between the contemporary saga, of "knowing how to get rich" is Bob Proctor is also one of the top best-sellers of the moment, and is interviewed, speaks, and teaches people the know-how of how to get rich using only your mind.

The Law of Attraction makes it so, that anything you think about and hold as image in your mind, will, sooner or later be manifested in your life, be it good or bad. You will attract it unconsciously and it will come true. If you worry about the outcome of something that has kept you sad, or feel not so confident about tomorrow's exam, thinking that you'll certainly fail, that this is exactly what you will get. You are only attracting them into your life, and the series of misfortunes has only begun.

It can be compared to a prophecy that you have envisioned and asked for. The workings of the Law of Attraction have never been more profound and clear than they are now, in this millennium; this law is nothing but the basics of all principles, spiritual or of another kind, namely that whatever image you hold in your head about the outcome of the events happening in your life, will be manifested. What Bob Proctor does is not making us believe that the plan is an intricate one, but offering a starting point, and a plan, and it is here that lies the benefits and efficiency of his lessons.

It has been proved that there are many of us that cannot or do not know how to plan, primarily on a subconscious level, so the focuses only on the here-and-now, and what is to come is actually the indefinite future. So, let's take the present moment and start seeing and visualizing something you want, while removing all those barriers that have until then stopped you from really getting that special something. Simply cut them away and start picturing yourself at the wheel of your new car.

Visualize your dream occupation, love-life, perfect holiday, you name it, and start planning what that feels like. The Law will hear your messages and your thoughts and will give to you what you have wished for. It all comes back, sooner or later. The cycle is has to be completed.

Last but not least. In his "Science of Getting Rich" program, Bob Proctor clearly wants us to know that all those who believe they have a certain limit, ought not expect great things. His examples are self-speaking and the chain of events he points out can be yours or mine.
